Be A Volunteer!
Volunteer Form:
Volunteers at TedFest are the backbone of our festival and it’s a great way to make lifelong friends. Please fill out the Volunteer Form to get started! Please pick at least 3 types of jobs:
Getting the Word Out:
Help us put up posters, make some waves on social media, or tap into an emailing list with a contest, discount or ticket giveaway.
For flyers and posters, send us your address and we'll send you some flyers and posters you can distribute. We will coordinate with you on what area you will be covering. You will be required to send us a nice picture of you posting flyers as proof of your work!
For social media or emailing lists, if you have a following on social media or have connections with an influencer we'd love to work with you on some social media ideas. If you have connections to an emailing list of some kind, we'd love to work with you on a contest, discounts, or ticket giveaways.
Setup and Breakdown:
Do you like relaxing, listening to music, jamming and hanging out with friends during the festival? This is for you! There are many types of work to do in setup and breakdown. Some of them involve actual carpentry and construction, but a lot of them involve simple things like putting in and out of boxes, putting up signs, putting stakes in the ground, stringing twinkle lights, etc... This job involves setting up, and taking down the stages, tables, tents, signs, setting out and picking up trash cans, etc... Requirements are availability a day or two before and after the Festival. This is a perfect job for people who want to simply enjoy the festival, and have hands on skills with lifting and building stuff, or the ability to clean and organize things into boxes.
Front Gate:
This involves being on the front line with a positive personality and a sense of fun. You will work under the guidance of the Gate Captain and sell tickets to festival attendees and put wristbands on folks as they come through the gate. You may also be pulled to work at the Free Gate, checking in bands, volunteers, vendors, and guests.
Merch Sales:
You will work under the guidance of the Merch Coordinator and sell CDs and merchandise for bands as they are performing on stage. This is a very important revenue source for the bands, and it includes presenting yourself to the band managers in a professional manner, handling their CDs, and handling money.
Security:
Help us patrol the festival grounds and make sure people are safe and having a good time. You'll also be able to answer questions and point people in the right direction.
Parking:
This involves pointing and smiling, and saying ‘welcome to TedFest!” You’ll need a sun hat, and a bottle of water, you will get the cars started in straight lines in the field, and direct people towards overflow parking when needed.
Camping Coordinator:
Camping is a fun part of the festival and you will help direct people to the best spots for camping and make sure they are in the designated camping areas.
WASATCH MOUNTAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES:
All WMMF volunteers must sign in at the front gate.
Volunteers represent the festival and as such, are required to remain free of the influence of illegal drugs, inhalants or alcohol while performing volunteer work. Volunteers must not report for duty while under the influence of any drug or alcoholic substance. Violation of this policy will result in immediate discharge from the volunteer program and from the festival grounds.
Safety at WMMF is a top priority. All accidents are preventable. WMMF volunteers are responsible for their safety, the safety of their fellow volunteers and attendees. All injuries or accidents must be reported directly to staff.
Our Expectations:
Report ON TIME.
We are looking for 2 - 3 hour shifts for a full weekend pass.
Strive for kindness, generosity, maturity, friendliness, honesty, civility and respect when dealing with everyone you meet.
No rudeness, ridiculing, aggressive behavior, disrespectful language or acting irresponsibly.
Make your best effort to help festival patrons. They are the reason we are here and they are paying to enjoy the festival.
Wear suitable clothing, reasonably clean.
Maintain excellent housekeeping, help remove rubbish and leave area clean.
If you have complaints, issues and/or questions about any volunteer’s actions or decisions, please take it up privately with that person. Loud complaints in front of patrons about the festival or its staff does not solve the issue, nor does it enhance the reputation of the festival as a laid back, family friendly environment.
On behalf of the festival staff, we hope that you have a great experience. We appreciate your hard work.
